During his farewell reception at the Embassy, Consul Truszkowski thanked his co-workers and representatives of Polish community organisations for many years of cooperation.

In the years 2002-2008 Ireneusz Truszkowski served as the Polish community relations consul, and from 2011 as Consul General and Head of the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in London. During this time, he was actively involved in many projects benefiting the Polish community in the UK, which included his support for Polish Saturday schools and guardianship of places of national remembrance. Consul Truszkowski also contributed to the founding of the Polish Olympic Centre during the 2012 Olympic Games, and the recently launched Family Support Centre.

Thanks to Consul Truszkowski’s efforts, the Consular Section of the Embassy has moved to its new location, where the changes implemented in its organisation greatly increased the quality of both work and service.

Consul Truszkowski thanked Ambassador Witold Sobków, his co-workers at the Embassy and numerous representatives of the Polish community for their many years of cooperation,  and stressed how much he learned from Polish émigrés - representatives of all generations.
