  • GEORGE WINDSOR, EARL OF ST ANDREWS

  • Educated as a historian and a passionate book collector, George Windsor, the Earl of St Andrews and heir apparent to the Dukedom of Kent, talks about his interest in Polish and Central European culture.

In this brief interview, the Earl explains why he is fond of the poetry of Polish Romanticism, especially in Pan Tadeusz or the Last Foray of Lithuania (1834, English translation Bill Johnston, 2018) by the Polish bard Adam Mickiewicz (1798-1855), and the poetry of Cyprian Norwid (1821-1883). He also tells of his interest in book antiquarianism, speaking about the value of books as important artefacts of history and culture.
